MUSIC THERAPY IS
The clinical use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship. Music therapy can be done in individual and group settings. No prior music experience is necessary to benefit from music therapy.

MUSIC THERAPY LOOKS LIKE
Depending on the client(s), music therapy sessions can include instrumental improvisation, songwriting, listening to and discussing preferred songs, re-creating preferred songs, music relaxation/mindfulness, singing, among others.

MUSIC THERAPY GOALS INCLUDE
Self-expression, emotional expression, reduced feelings of anxiety and/or agitation, enhanced cognitive function, enhanced verbal communication, reduced experience of pain, increased mindfulness, enhanced ease of physical movement, enhanced insight/self-awareness, increased self-confidence, increased overall quality of life, among others.
